A Shadow of Grief Falls Over the Expatriate Bangladeshi Community

Mahbub Rahman (55), a former IT architect at Harvard University, has passed away in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. He died after a long battle with brain cancer. His passing has cast a deep shadow of grief over the expatriate Bangladeshi community.
After completing his studies in the Department of Physics at the University of Dhaka, Mahbub Rahman moved to the United States for higher education and his career. He subsequently embarked on a career in the information technology sector, where his skill and professionalism led him to serve as an IT architect at Harvard University.
Alongside his professional life, Mahbub Rahman was actively involved in various social and humanitarian activities within the expatriate Bangladeshi community. His sincerity, professionalism, and humanitarian qualities made him a beloved figure among colleagues, friends, and community members.
He is survived by his wife, two children, and numerous relatives, friends, and well-wishers. Following the news of his death, people from all walks of life expressed their condolences on social media and prayed for the salvation of the deceased’s soul.
His funeral prayer (Janaza) and final farewell took place at Princeton University, attended by family members, relatives, friends, and well-wishers. Md. Nasir, the New Jersey (USA) correspondent for *Dainik Nabodoy Dot Com*, and his son, Sabit Nasir, were also present at the service.
Expressing deep sorrow over Mahbub Rahman’s passing, Md. Nasir said, “Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilayhi Raji’un. This is an irreparable loss. May Allah the Almighty grant the deceased *Jannatul Firdaus* (the highest level of Paradise) and grant the bereaved family the strength to bear this difficult time with patience. Amen.”
The void created in the expatriate Bangladeshi community by Mahbub Rahman’s death will not be easily filled. His work, humanity, and memory will long be cherished by his loved
